L2018-03 Serious incident at Kokkola-Pietarsaari airport on 22 March 2018

Pursuant to Section 2 of the Safety Investigation Act (525/2011), the Safety Investigation Authority Finland has decided to initiate an investigation into a serious incident that occurred at Kokkola-Pietarsaari Airport on 22 March 2018.

A Swedish Jonair AB PA-31-350 airplane, registration SE-FNE, landed while the runway was occupied by three runway maintenance vehicles. The occurrence did not result in any injuries to persons or damage to material.

Air traffic controller (retired) Timo Heikkilä has been appointed as the team leader of the investigation group and Master of Psychology Jaakko Kulomäki has been appointed as its member. Chief Safety Investigator Ismo Aaltonen will serve as the Investigator-in-Charge.
