L2017-03 Decision to initiate an investigation into a commercial aircraft overrunning a runway at the Helsinki-Vantaa airport on 11 July 2017

The Safety Investigation Authority of Finland has decided to initiate an investigation under Section 2 of the Safety Investigation Act (525/2011) into an incident that occurred at the Helsinki-Vantaa Airport on 11 July 2017. After its landing, a Boeing 737-800 commercial aircraft of the company Norwegian Air Shuttle overran a runway.

Air traffic controller (retired) Lars Levo is appointed as the team leader of investigation group and airline pilot Juha-Pekka Keidasto and Sirkku Laapotti, PhD (Psych.) are appointed as its members. Chief Safety Investigator Ismo Aaltonen is appointed as the Investigator-in-Charge.
